The ChemStudio product line is designed for multifunctional imaging applications. According to different instrument configurations, imaging applications can range from simple gel imaging to more advanced applications, including multispectral imaging and multi-functional imaging. The main applications include high-resolution chemiluminescence detection, fluorescence imaging, and colorimetric sample imaging. The ChemStudio imaging system can meet countless applications in protein and nucleic acid research. The VisionWorksLS software can achieve automatic imaging and analysis functions.
In addition to the extensive features of image acquisition, the software also provides extensive and detailed image analysis functions, including 1D analysis, optical density calculation, and clone counting functions.

    In order to meet the demand for obtaining different types of signals, a research grade cold CCD camera with a resolution of 8.1 million pixels has been developed and applied. This set of cameras is also equipped with various high-quality lenses to choose from, including fixed focus lenses and zoom lenses. In addition, CCD integrates Peltier for cooling and is used to collect extremely weak chemiluminescence signals, such as Western, Northern, and Southern Blots. Compared with other methods, cold CCD imaging has the characteristics of high sensitivity, more accuracy, wide dynamic range, fast imaging speed, and convenient operation.

    The use of ChemStudio instruments and VisionWorksLS software can greatly simplify the operation of chemiluminescence imaging and image analysis. VisionWorksLS is a modern toolkit that has many features that simplify the operations of chemiluminescence, fluorescence, colorimetric imaging, imprint imaging, clone counting, and membrane imaging. Once the sample is placed on the imaging stage, it will be focused for image acquisition. A high dynamic range allows for a series of dynamic and continuous shooting without overexposure. CCD with high sensitivity and resolution can achieve excellent imaging results, meeting both the precise quantification of results and the requirement for image quality in published articles.

    Flexible modular design

    All chemiluminescence imaging systems can be equipped with a UV transilluminator for imaging EB and EB substitutes. UV transilluminators are available in single wavelength (302nm) and multi wavelength options. White light conversion plates or LED white light transmission plates can be used for imaging transparent samples visible to the naked eye, such as PAGE gel stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue, cell cloning plates, films, or other samples that can be excited by white light. In addition, blue light conversion plates can be used for imaging samples excited by blue light, such as GelGreen, SYBR Green, and other safe and harmless dyes. Jena also provides an overhead UV module for optimized imaging of thin layer chromatography plates.

    Multi color fluorescence imaging requires an external StudioLite light source, which is connected to the interior of the instrument through optical fibers to provide high-intensity and single wavelength excitation light for excitation of various samples. All light sources need to use filters to filter out specific wavelengths of light for excitation of different fluorescent dyes, such as GFP, RFP, CY, and near-infrared fluorescent dyes.
